After making its debut at Outbound Travel Market last year, Zambia Tourism Board is looking at improving its marketing activities in order to promote the destination in the Indian market. India is among the top ten tourist source markets for Zambia.
The tourism sector’s contribution to Zambia’s economy is three per cent, which the country’s tourism board is looking at increasing to six per cent by 2016. There are plans to create 300,000 jobs in Zambia’s tourism sector, said Mato Shimabale, Director Marketing, Zambia Tourism Board, who is in India to participate in SATTE in Delhi January 29-31.
